The Sacramento Association for the Retarded is a non-profit organization formed over forty-five years ago at a time when services were not available for people with mental retardation. It was for this reason that parents organized SAR. Since then, SAR has been an operator and developer of many invaluable programs and services for individuals with mental retardation and their families. Today, SAR provides advocacy, future planning and conservator ship services, workshops, transportation coordination and protection services.

The mission of the Sacramento Life Center is to provide information, support and resources to enable women to choose life for their unborn children and to assist men and women suffering from the pain of a past abortion.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the premier source of information and support for every American dealing with Alzheimer’s disease. Through their network of local California offices, (Mountain View, Lafayette, Sacramento, Paradise, San Rafael, Santa Rosa, and Santa Cruz), they offer a broad range of programs and services for people with the disease, their families, and caregivers, providing information, support, education and training, advocacy and research.
