Habitat for Humanity New York City

Habitat for Humanity New York City is one of more than 1,500 United States affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International, an ecumenical, Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing from the world. We are committed to the development and uplifting of families and communities, not just the construction of homes. This affiliate was created in 1984 when New York City was selected as the site of the first Jimmy Carter Work Project and currently builds in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens.

If you are thinking of donating a used car or other vehicle, they have two companies that have helped raise thousands of dollars annually for their programs. There is no cost to you and you don’t have to live in New York City. After calling or e-mailing, a pick-up will be scheduled in a few days, when you will turn over the title and the vehicle. It may take several months for the donation to be processed, and then you will receive a thank-you letter from Habitat-NYC, which you can use for tax purposes. Call or go to the website and specify Habitat for Humanity-New York City on the vehicle donation form.
If you have general questions about vehicle donations, call our development office at 718.246.5656, ext. 306.
