CAR DONATION IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA
The San Francisco Bay Area and its surrounding areas have a number of deserving charities that operate Car Donation schemes. It would be impossible to list all of these, however here are three of the more deserving causes that you can give old automobile to.
The Arc of San Francisco chapter was founded in 1951 by a group of parents concerned about the lack of services for their sons and daughters with developmental disabilities. The Arc (formerly The Association for Retarded Citizens) vision is a world where people of all abilities participate fully in all aspects of life. The Arc’s mission is to secure and sustain the full range of rights, opportunities, and choices for a satisfying and productive life with dignity for all people with developmental disabilities, mental retardation, and other related disabilities and their families.
The Arc of San Francisco will be happy to talk to you about donating your vehicle and will arrange everything for you. To contact them telephone (415) 626-5710.
East Bay Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to create home ownership opportunities for low and very low-income families by building decent, affordable homes and by enhancing neighborhoods through partnerships with homeowners and the community. East Bay Habitat is an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, and builds homes in Alameda and Western Contra Costa Counties of California.
They have established an arrangement with Donate For Charity to process vehicle donations. Donate For Charity arranges a free vehicle pickup, handles all the DMV issues, sells the vehicle at auction, and distributes the net proceeds to East Bay Habitat For Humanity. By donating, you avoid the headache of selling a used vehicle, help support East Bay Habitat For Humanity, and receive a receipt entitling you to declare the fair market value of your vehicle as a tax deduction. When you are ready to donate, or want to learn more, simply call Donate For Charity toll-free at (866) 392-4483 and be sure to mention East Bay Habitat for Humanity.
The San Francisco SPCA is a private, non-profit animal welfare organization
dedicated to saving San Francisco’s homeless cats and dogs; to helping pets stay in loving homes; and to cultivating respect and awareness for animals’ rights and needs. Since 1868, the San Francisco SPCA has been protecting life and providing love for San Francisco’s homeless cats and dogs.
You can be part of this lifesaving tradition by donating your car to the San Francisco SPCA. Other than cars, they accept items such as boats, jet skis, snowmobiles, commercial vehicles (i.e. heavy duty vans and trucks) and trailers (i.e. horse trailers, 5th wheel trailers, travel trailers). They will sell it and devote the proceeds to saving homeless animals.
It’s a tax break for you and a lifesaving break for the animals.
To donate your car call 866-4-SFSPCA (or 866-473-7722).
